My first job was as head Art Director for this great collection of New York City history
I restored the permanent galleries and designed the temporary shows and posters, banners, signage and brochures. Also produced traveling exhibits.
CITYRAMA
The story of how New Amsterdam grew into New York City was told in a continuously narrated automated mult-media show. As the city grew it was projected on a 3D map. Four round screens displayed dates and information. Actual historic objects including a horse drawn bus, surrounded the viewers and were spotlighted in turn. This was the first show of its kind in a museum and was very popular with school children brought by their history teachers on field trips.
Ziegfeld
I used cut outs of his follies to display the show costumes. The golden silk screen poster below was my very first.
