The history of Popular Mechanics commemorates the magazine's 100th anniversary. The cover displays names and autographs of some the many famous people that were featured over its long history which included the 21 years I served as its Creative Director
patterns of life
Former Life Magazine Art Director Edward Hamilton gave me my first job in New York. This biology textbook for American Book Company was my very first assignment. It features hundreds of photographs and original illustrations and charts on over 700 pages. It broke the mold of traditional schoolbooks by using a magazine layout style to engage the student. Ed later recommended me as Art Director for Saturday Review magazine

I created these delicious tomes for Hippocrene Books. They feature color photographs by the author and my own illustrations.
